The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England.  We were created this year to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

We're building a new team to regulate universities and colleges and want to make a number of new appointments to posts at different levels.

It's important to us that our growing team is more diverse so we encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities.  We’re especially keen to hear from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates who are currently under-represented.  We’re also a Disability Confident employer – we’ll provide a fully accessible recruitment process and offer an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job.

We’re happy to receive applications for full time, part-time, job share or secondment opportunities.

To work with us, you don’t need to be an expert in higher education, but you will have a passion for the OfS's mission and for making a difference for all students.

For our Senior Officer posts you don’t need to have worked as a regulator, but you will be able to show us that you can reach and communicate judgements on the basis of complex evidence.  You’ll also be able to learn quickly, and to work flexibly and at pace.  We expect to challenge you to work out how to implement new parts of our regulatory framework and to evaluate what we're learning as we develop as a regulator.

If you can also show us that you're an experienced leader with regulatory expertise you could be right to join our group of Managers.  You'll be able to manage the work of a flexible team and ensure that we know we’re providing an excellent service to the universities and colleges we regulate.  You'll also be able to get to grips with our regulatory system and think creatively about how we should regulate.

Competition and Registration Manager – pay band 11 £68,668 - £72,101
